Jermaine Dye should have won it.
You need to understand that its the most Valuable player. Not the guy on an ok team with decent stats award.
All the first place votes went to guys with better numbers and played on better teams.
They also were big reasons why their teams were better.
    LOL, o really?

Then why did Ryan Howard win the NL MVP over Albert Pujols?

    1. Albert Pujols is easily a better defensive first baseman.

    2. Ryan Howard struckout 181 times, Pujols only struck out 50.

    3. Not to mention the Cardinals wouldn't have came close to making the postseason, without Pujols.

Howard had better numbers than Pujols. Funny you didn't bold the next sentence.
    Dye had decent stats.
    Howard had unbelievable stats.

In the AL, it was debatable who's numbers were the best because each of the top guys had great stats in different areas.
Dye wasn't in that discussion because his stats weren't as good, let alone he played on an average team.
    Dye is a fine player.
    Not an MVP.
The White Sox are a fine team.
    Not a playoff team.

Not as good stats+average team does not equal MVP.
    Get it?

    NFW, I don't believe it.
Is this some sort of hoax?

    YESSSSS!!

    That is awesome.

    I didn't think he had a chance.
I thought Mauer would have even more of a chance.

I don't care what anybody says, Ryan Howard didn't deserve to win NL MVP over Albert Pujolis.

Cardinals fans are HEATED right now, and they have every right to be.

Why do you keep saying the White Sox are an average team?
    ???

Are pitching was bad this past season, and we barely missed the postseason in a very competitive division.

The Twins made the postseason, then got DESTROYED in the first round.
    ;D

And it won't get any better next year, not with Francisco Liriano being out for the 07/08 season.

    Re: Morneau MVP!!!

3rd place out of five teams is average.

The cardinal rule about playoff trashtalking is that if your team isn't there, you can't talk.

We didn't have Liriano as we rolled through your team so why would not having him prevent us from doing it again.

I understand that one championship in 87 years is awesome.
    I mean wow, quite impressive.
Completely justifies talking trash to the team that has the Cy Young winner, the MVP, and has won the division 4 out of the last five years.

    Buried alive it appears.

    Re: Morneau MVP!!!

Not the most outspoken guy, but good nonehtheless.

The guy from ESPN asked him if he was the first homeless MVP, referring to the fact that he lives with Mauer.
Morneau said he probably won't be moving out, because him and Joe are very superstitious. LOL!

    Re: Morneau MVP!!!

.313 avg, .425 OBP, 58 HR, 149 RBIS, 108 BB, 182 Hits, and 104 runs on a mediocre team at best

    is clearly better than

.331 AVG, .431 OBP, 49 HR, 137 RBIs, 92 BB, 177 Hits, and 119 runs on the World Series champions.

I do not doubt for one second that if Pujols hadn't been injured he would have won the MVP, but he was and Cardinal fans are gonna have to deal with it.

Before he was injured he was on pace for 88 HRs and near 200 RBIs.
