Yup the old monitor did the exact same thing on a different computer. How do you know whether a monitor will work on the video card in your monitor or is there even a way to tell before you plug it in?
Make sure you bring your computer type as well as operating system version/type with you when you buy the monitor.
The guys that sell you the monitor will make sure you get one that works.
If they can't then go someplace else were they can.
Will that work for almost any type of computer? I have an HP and Windows XP service pack 2, I believe. Any place I can check out if I have the original pack or #2?
What you need to ensure is that you have the correct driver in your operating system. Nowadays that isn't as big of a deal because Microsoft, in all its infinite wisdom has gone to the next step and made sure that they provide adequate driver support for almost all makes and models.

Again, just tell the guy you have Windows XP and what type (Model) of computer and he/she should be able to tell you that the monitor will work.

Shouldn't be that big of a deal.
    Thanks Marrdro
Sorry I left ya hanging like that.

Actually when we run dogs it is considered a "Organized Hunt".
When we do that all the deer harvested are cut up into 7 pieces and drawn on my the hunters who participated in the hunt.

I know how it is. I went on a party hunt with some of my exes friends. They grind everyting into hamburger, sausage & Farmers style, so for my share I got all 7 tenderloins & nothing but steaks.

    Re: Monitor problem

If it's a CRT monitor.. replace it.

especially in the world of technology and pc's. 2 years is an obsolete dateline for equipment.

If your using a graphics card that's about the same age as yer monitor. you might run into some settings problems.

make sure you check that ht emonitor can handle low end video settings. i've seen a couple we got at the office here not able to accept things lower then 1024x768 and some high end resolutions/hrtz.

btw.. get a new tft 19" as a to me from me xmass present!!
