Minnesota Storms
So it was kind of a crazy night for me tonight with the storms and I've been hearing on the radio about all the damage that has been done. There are trees down everywhere, house fires etc! I was dropping my brother off back at college and my sister lives close by. It started pouring and I could barely see so I stopped at her place. Shortly after we found out that her neighbors cars were stuck with trees on them, they were both demolished. There was debris everywhere and electricity was out in my sister's place. I was stuck there for a few hours and finally was able to drive back home. I was just wondering if anyone else had interesting stories about the night storms. Hope everyone on here from the cities and surrounding areas are ok tonight and safe at home.

Yeah, what a crazy night. I'm in Dakota County, so we didn't get the insane initial burst like you guys did up there. Just lots of rain and some hail. From what I've seen and heard on TV, looks like there's gonna be alot of damage to assess when the sun comes up tomorrow. Hope your sister's neighborhood is alright, same goes to anyone else up in the north metro.
One last thing, and I think there's a different thread for this, but my prayers go out to anyone in the path of Rita. It's gonna be a doozy...

Yeah, there was serious stuff going on around here. I'm in Stillwater. In the dark, I can see a bunch of tree branches all over the place, but we didn't get it like Anoka County did.

Re: Minnesota Storms
I live in Eden Prairie and we had nothing from the first wave of storms. It did not even rain until about 10:30, and then it was just a normal thunder storm.
What a difference 15 miles made!
My brother lives up by Brooklyn Park and he had down trees and some water in his basement. What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Re: Minnesota Storms
We had some crazy thunderstorms here last night in South eastern sconny, but nothing too bad. Last week though we had the same thing with some pretty fierce winds that knocked out power to a ton of people and a ton of broken tree branches were everywhere! Hope everyone is alright up in the cities!

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!
