Re: Minnesota Gets (Purple and) Gold for #1 Pick in Draft
I find myself only watching HD channels over the last year or so (like when you first got a dvd player, it's hard to go back to VHS) . . . anyway, I was flipping through channels and ended up watching both women's semifinals. Not bad. The final was even better. I think it's great that the Lynx picked up Augustus. She's a phenomenal player, and a high profile name for the team. They (Glen Taylor), lost 500k last year . . . this should help.

Well with the Gopher Girls falling apart at the seams, seems they may gain some fans looking for girls basketball. Maybe not but nice to see an MN team get a top pick.

womens basketball is atrocious..that is not a sexist comment, that is just one sports fans opinion
People who see life as anything more than pure entertainment are missing the point.

The problem is that basketball watchers have been so perverted by the current men's version of the game in the USA (no defense, one-on-one play where the other players stand around and watch, drive to the hoop and dish for a 3 and dunk, dunk, dunk) that when you watch a women's game where they make the extra pass and play the fundamentals, it seems slow and tedious.womens basketball is atrocious..that is not a sexist comment, that is just one sports fans opinion
Just my opinion - I really don't watch any hoops outside of my personal teams (my alma mater and Iowa State) and the tournament. I can't stand the NBA game.
Now - give me a good English Premiere League football game! (Dat's soccer, kids!)
Of course - *nothing* beats a great NFL match-up. Period.
