    Minnesota commercial slams Fargo

“So, Republicans, while you’re here, check out this place we call home. It’s not the frontier, it’s not flyover country and it ain’t Fargo.

Supposedly, they were referring to the movie Fargo, not the wonderful city that I live in, but I don't think they thought this one out too well...
Here is the article in the Fargo Forum regarding it:
    http://www.in-forum.com/articles/rss.cfm?id=213526

    You wish it was Fargo.
Then you might actually have a successful college football team.

    lol, thriving off stereotypes.
Many city people have an arrogant attitude about other places, even when they have never spent any time there they 'know' what it's all about.

I think he meant the movie, not the city.

    WICKED nice,
that must be a east coast expression.
    There are more wickeds
being thrown around in Mass than anywhere I have been before.
    LOL!

    45,000 republicans!
There couldn't have been more than 12,000 at that convention last night.
I think 12 is conservative on that number. pun intended.

I'm sorry, did the hillbilly say something? I was too busy sipping my fine Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee.

I prefer boldness to a distinctive floral bouquet.

In the end, I would not care if they made that comment in the context of the metro area not being like the town I live in.

Hell, Fargo should make a counter-ad that says it's not the crime ridden, welfare laden, traffic congested clusterf%$k twin cities.

Actually, Minneapolis and the surrounding areas have some of the highest Per-capita incomes in the country.
    Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

    Lighten up!
    :P
North Dakota should send all Minnesotans and the Coen Bros thank you cards every day for the publicity they got from the movie.
Minnesotans had to put up with the brunt of the stereotypes while Fargo just kept getting name recognition.

As Cole said in the article, any mention of Fargo is positive as long as it isn't about death or disaster.
That is a good attitude to have.

Traffic and clusterF is just part of living in a city of the size of MPLS/StP.
