Brainerd grid coach Stolski receives national award

BRAINERD, Minn. -- Ron Stolski, the longtime coach of the Brainerd High School football team, is being honored by a national coaches association.

Stolski will receive the American Football Coaches Association Power of Influence Award on Wednesday. The award has been given to one high school coach in the nation every year since 2002.

Stolski has 283 career victories in 44 years as a head coach, the most of any active coach in Class 5A football in Minnesota. In 31 years at Brainerd High School, his teams have won 14 conference championships and played in five state tournaments.

He will formally receive the award Jan. 10 in Dallas at the annual AFCA convention.

LOL, I was racking my brain for the 0.06 seconds it took me to open the thread wondering what Tice could have possibly won.

That's pretty sweet. He must have been there when my mom was going to school there.
