Military Aircraft
I noticed the Bhutto thread discussing some Military Aircraft and figured this could make a cool thread on it's own.
I've always loved researching Military Aircraft and going to air shows.
And a personal favorite of mine... the A-10 Warthog:

Re: Military Aircraft
oh ho ho.
The work horse of the air, the infantries aircraft.
Good
choice.
But I'll counter you with the future of the air force, the soon to be king of the sky, F-22 Raptor.

Re: Military Aircraft
Very cool... I was actually looking at F-22 pics before I went with the A-10... the "Tank Killer"... so bad ass.
Anywhoo... the Euro-Fighter is pretty bad ass as well. It's a joint venture between England, France, Italy and a couple other countries I believe... but a sharp looking Jet nonetheless.

And then of course there is the American F-15E Eagle:

Re: Military Aircraft
Agree about the P-51 being the best... here are 2nd and 3rd place respectively... (of course I'm leaving out the Japanese Zero and the German Messerschmidt 109)

Re: Military Aircraft
As a 21 year Air Force vet, you guys hit my soft spot!
1973-94 put me in the position to witness a lot technology advances.
The century series aircraft (F-100, F-101, F-102, F-104, F-105 and F-106) were cool, with the F-106 being my favorite...
