Are you a sony fanboy? Did you even see any of the footage or did you just make a quick assumption?
sony fanboy? lmao... what are we like 12 years old?

It's a great idea and probably very profitable.
However, while the technology is very impressive I actually thought it looked kind of stupid as well.
What I learned from the Wii is that half of what I like about playing video games is sitting on my jiggly butt, gaining weight...possibly drinking beer.
Prancing around the room like a fruit loop pixie is not my idea of long term gaming fun.
I wonder how many granules of dust my Wii collected as I typed this...hmmm
It is juvenile to ask if someone is a fanboy? A fanboy is someone who loves everything about their particular system and hates everything about any other system.

I am a fan of games of all forms and welcome any new technology that can advance games to the next level. I didn't see any particular thing in the presentation that I am interested in but it should be great to see what 3rd party developers come up with when they have spent some time with it.

When I first posted this I tried to embed the video from here, but I really don't know how to do that.
This web site has a better video than the original post that shows more versatility and features.

    http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/01/m...-with-anticip/

Also there were references to other games (I don't know if they are set for this system, but some of the features shown here would suggest that they are).

And the revolutionary system wasn't all that Microsoft ponied up yesterday. A slew of new games are on their way to shops, including Beatles Rock Band, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Tony Hawk Ride and Final Fantasy XIII. The Redmond massive has also inked a deal with Twitter and Facebook in an attempt to make XBox Live "the next generation of social networking," according to Microsoft's Vice President of Xbox Strategy and Development, Shane Kim. Check the bonus video after the jump of one of Project Natal's games. It knocks Wii Fit into a cocked hat, but you're going to need a bi-i-ig old space in front of the TV to play it!
If you are playing "Call of Duty" do you have to low crawl across the living room floor? ;D

    LMAO.
    That was funny.

There are advantages and disadvantages to both IMHO.
I love playing MarioCart and Nascar Kart on the Wii.
I like playing madden on the PS3 more.
Star Wars force and Star Wars Legos = Much better on the Wii.
First person shooters = much better on a traditional console.

Most of the Wii games are still sit down games that take advantage of the Wiimote's area sensing capability.
I see the Natal as the next logical step in this design.
If they can incorporate a traditional controller that you can use as well for game slike FPS and Madden, then it will be perfect.
I should be careful how much I bash on the Wii.
Your post was much more fair than mine.
I personally enjoy FPS the most, followed by Madden in 2nd...hence the reason my PS3 (or 360 if I owned one) gets the most use.
Another problem for my Wii is that our living room is small and cluttered making many of the necessary Wiimote movements difficult.

We played the Wii like crazy for the first 2 months we had it.
Then it was back to the PS3 for my Call of Duty games.
It's probably not even fair to compare the Wii with this new Microsoft technology but it's the closest thing there is in the gaming realm.

BTW...anybody looking for a Wiifit game and board?
Only used about 5 times, lol.

Blame my ignorance then...the only place I usually seethe term "fanboy" in use is gaming forums which are populated mostly by juveniles.
The arguments are ridiculous at best.
Most mature folks would agree that arguing over the PS3 and XBOX is silly...especially since most play the same games and have the similar graphics capabilities.
Sure people should and will have preferences but the heated arguments are laughable.

I wasn't trying to insult you...just the general populous of people that have nothing better to do than sit in mom's basement and insult people over the internet who own a (insert console name here).

I saw that as well, and was a little disappointed that it is pretty much EXACTLY like the wii controller.

It looked as if it were a lot more precise compared to the controls of the wii games I've played.

I was going to ask what you were talking about (I always thought the Wii was fairly precise).
After watching the clip though, I see what your talking about.
    Definitely looks more precise.

Clap on. Clap off. Clap on Clap off.

Seriously though, that was pretty cool. Technology is kicking out asses.

Also, I might be going to jail, but I thought the daughter was pretty cute
