MIAMI (AP) — For the second consecutive year, rude Miami drivers have earned the city the title of worst road rage in a survey released Tuesday.
Miami motorists said they saw other drivers slam on their brakes, run red lights and talk on cellphones, according to AutoVantage, a Connecticut-based automobile membership club offering travel services and roadside assistance.

Other cities near the top of the rude drivers list were New York, Boston, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.

South Miami resident Erik Pinto told the Associated Press that he has probably seen every bad driving habit on Miami's roads.

"You don't want to know what I've seen," Pinto said. "I've seen everything. I'm from L.A., and we don't see the crazy drivers that you see here."

    RUDE DRIVERS STUDY

Residents in the following 25 cities were surveyed and are listed in order from those reporting the most incidents of road rage to the fewest:

    1. Miami
    2. New York
    3. Boston
    4. Los Angeles
    5. Washington, D.C.

I want the job of the guy that does the rude driver surveys. I think you just drive slowly in the fast lane, a high risk occupation though.
They are legalizing drive-by shootings last I heard.

I think the survey was based on reported road-rage incidents, so there are stats to back it up, not just some dude travelling around in a Honda Civic doing 60 in the left-lane and counting the people who flip him off.

Don't be ruining my fantasy job.
A host of people counting would be just as accurate or more accurate than reported incidents anyway.
Hire a couple hundred people in Honda Civics to drive slowly in the fast land and tally them up.
My guess is the most talliers killed would be in L.A.

    Just read the article:

More than 2,500 drivers who regularly commute in 25 major metropolitan areas were asked to rate road rage and rude driving in telephone surveys between January and March. The survey was conducted by Prince Market Research has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.

    Like most, subjective.
Hire your own clones to go through with a standardized approach.
Great summer job for some morons.

Suggest it to one of your colleagues over in the faculty lounge later today.
I bet they can get a grant to study it.

We'll leave that to the 'soft' sciences.

I would suggest that the psych department or sociology folks are also your colleagues.
This shit is right up their alley.
And you could co-author it (or something) to show your inter-disciplinary skills.

I would rather be the technician in this type of study, much more fun.
Although I would skew the results with a higher proportion of people wanting to kill me compared to the norm.

There would have to be tight protocols on your participation, that's for sure.
