Downloading music w/out paying for it is stealing.
    Period.
Just as bad as walking into Wal-Mart and stuffing a CD in your pants.
and I have done both of them, so sue me.
Not my style - the suing part
    - or the stealing thing.

Artists work very hard to produce their work - and the cavalier attitude the so many take towards stealing their efforts with no compensation really gets me.
Would it be okay if some dude walked into your apartment and took your TV?
There is a huge difference between burglary/breaking and entering and downloading off a site that is provided on the world wide web that I PAY for. You want to make that comparison but yet you don't think we can compare Bellicheat to the McKinnie thing. Come on Zeus.
    WTF are you talking about?
    YOU pay for the internet?
    Wow!
    Cool!

    Try again, Sherlock.
YOU pay for X amount of bandwidth from your ISP.
YOU don't pay for the servers that host the illegal downloading website that you access, nor do you pay for their bandwidth.
And you certainly don't pay the artists who created that music (which you apparently enjoy, since you want to download it).

Stealing is stealing, no matter from whom you steal.

Now - please go find where I ever posted anything about comparing "Spygate" to McKinnie's suspension.

    =Z=

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Ummm - well - if they're "free", then, probably not.
Of course, the individual scenario might be different.

You know, beyond all of the piracy debate (which I'm completely right about anyways) the real shame in all of this is that, here is a band that legitimately used to be fantastic (circa 1989):

Now they're nothing but a bunch of overpaid, whiny geriatrics.

You don't like it, do something about it. All the bitching is not going to change anything.

    Re: Metallica

Went an listened to a couple of tracks off the new album.. disappointed.. James sounds really raspy, albeit some of the old Metallica rips and edge are back.. I was disappointed.. maybe they were just the test tracks.. we shall see.

    All Nightmare Long
    Cyanide

May grow on me.. I will listen to it again tomorrow as I work..

    Bitching?
    Who was bitching?
I was pointing out that downloading music is stealing.
You're getting awfully defensive about it.
Stolen a few too many songs, eh?

And what I do about it is this - I don't steal songs.
And when folks talk about it, I remind them that what they are doing is stealing.
And the reaction is just about what I've gotten from you.
    "What?
Well, uh, yeah, uh, yeah....look that way!"
