Mavs' owner Cuban says pro football demand is greater than supply
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2887465The NFL wants and needs competition," Cuban wrote. "They have grown so big and powerful that every move they make is scrutinized by local or federal officials. A competitor allows them to point to us and explain that their moves are for competitive reasons rather than the move of a monopoly."
Lets pray this don't turn out to be another Vince McMahon attempt.

Re: Mavs' owner Cuban says pro football demand is greater than supply
Interesting topic... Not so much Mark Cuban and whether or not a potential league would succeed.
Much of that has already discussed on another forum regarding the same subject.
The interesting part for me is whether or not Cuban is right when saying that the demand is greater than the supply.
Look at the NFL in general, fantasy, and sites like this one.
It's nuts.... Football is everywhere, heck how many of you can't wait to jump online to see who is posting the latest 40 times that are being shown live on NFL Network... I occassionally do.
Anyway, the point being, could a "simultaneous" minor league football season work.
Granted, we have NFL Europe, but that is overseas.
I can't obviously go to Europe and watch all of those games, although I can via technology, but it's not the same thing.
Additionally, many people, myself included can't always afford the PRO NFL games on a regular basis.
I would love to go watch "real," not XFL, lower level football with much cheaper prices.
For example, although not true in a true minor league, I love watching the St. Paul Saints live in person.
Sometimes more than Twins.
(I'll grant the outdoors vs. indoors argument; but additionally because of the price and added value entertainment).
Anyway, I think it would be interesting and enjoyable.
Much more than the existing practice squad players practicing with the real squad during the week and reading about it in the paper.
A few teams, Friday nights (many people don't watch HS games, and see some competive football.), a potential star or two, what's not to like.
I guess I'm forgetting about college football... LOL!!!, hard not to forget with the Gophers and Mason for the last how many years.
Go Tim Brewster, give MN another football team to cheer for.Ahh PURPLE is the color of all my Dreams!! GO VIKES!! Bring us a Lombardi!!
