Matty B's Restaurant - Matt Birk

Has anyone been to his restaurant? If so, how is the service and the food. I've heard that the burgers are pretty good, but thats pretty much it.

Its in Downtown St. Paul at the Gallivans... About a block south from Mickeys Diner.

I for one really hope they do a good job on this. Orignally it was Gallivans and any St. Paulite on here knows the history of Gallivans. Then some schmuck from California bought it and turned it into the "rockin lobster", which was just horrible and didn't last very long. Birk is a St. Paul guy and knows the tradition of the place so I am hoping he got back to what made it great.

I am sure it will do very well just because everyone knows it is Matt Birk who owns the place. He is originally from Minnesota, so if any restraunt owner would know what they like in Minnesota, it will be Mr. Birk..

Not like the Purple People Eatery, which was being advertised to open in the Mall of America and NEVER did...

I have a friend who ate there and he said it was alright but he didn't like how expensive it was. He said it was fancier than what he was expecting. I have never been there myself but I would like to check it out sometime just because of Matt Birk. Found this article....
