    You are half right.
Imagine the horizontal line on your grid (AB CD EF GH IJ KL) Was the months and the vert is the floors.

Your solution has all my people working in different groups for the months, but you have to get the months and the floors.
So see the left column? That represents floor 1 so you have person (A) Working on floor one every month.

When the solution is correct you should be able to go down each column and each row and do the alphabet A-L In other words your solution is balanced horizontaly but not vertically. I need both and that is where the $50 comes in because it is pissing me off

From what you said, you just needed to switch the order

The main problem I see with that is that employee A is either work all six floor in one month (impossible), or stays on the same floor for all six months, something that Del doesn't want. Never min del already corrected you.

I m like a Ja Rule poster, cause I'm off the wall.

It is quite possible I have slaughtered the explanation of the problem. And the formatting of this forum wont let me type out what I need to so......

To the left of AB, place AUG for August.
To the left of EG, place SEP for September....work your way down to JK
Now above AB, place Floor1 ----Above CD, place floor 2 work your way across.

Now look at floor 2 you have AC, AD, AE, AF, AG
You have guy (A) working Floor 2 every month. He can only be there once.

    Re: Math Question

AB CD EL GH FI JK
CE FK HJ BI DG AL
~ DF AE GK CJ BL (*)
GJ BH AI FL CK DE
HI GL BD EK AJ (+)
KL IJ CF AD EH BG

(*)On month 3 floor 6 the only possible solution is HI which has been used.
(+)On Month 5 floor 6 the only possible solution is CF which has been used.

    on the third line:
you have not used CH, CI, AG, GI, BK, JL...therfore your third line could be instead:

DF AE GI CH BK JL (insert here ~ in stead of previous line)

also... there are plenty of other combos that have not been used. this is just an observation...

    Re: Math Question

    Does this look right?

    Months across, floors vertically.

    ...1..2..3..4..5..6
6 BF EH DI CJ BK AL
5 GH FI EJ DK CL AB
4 HI GJ FK EL AD BC
3 IJ HK GL AF BE CD
2 JK IL AH BG CF DE
1 KL AJ BI CH DG EF
BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

No because in the 6th month, A is on floor 6 and 5, and B is on floor 5 and 4, and so on.

This is definitely a challenging problem.
