Marrdro's New Project Idea

Alright.
Its a slow day and not much to talk about (I guess) so I thought I would throw this idea out there to see if we have any smart feller (Fart Smellers) who can give me some insight into my new project.

Anyway, as many of you know, Wildman and I restored a old Allis Chalmers tractor a couple of years ago and since he is so Mustang Crazed (my new son in law to be is as well) I thought it would be a neat project to do a Mustang.
Anyway, long short, I have started a search for a 1965-1967 Ford Mustang Fastback, which I believe by the way, is the greatest car ever made.

Right now I just want a body (mostly the frame with door posts and VIN) as a starting point as I want to build her from the ground up and will put a new motor/trans in her after the body work is done.

I seem to be having trouble finding something to start with.
Most of my efforts have been centered around joining a few stang sites (they already have thier cars) as well as emailing a few Mustang salvage yards with limited success.
Anyway, questions for the PPO gang.

Anyone ever built a car from the ground up like I am trying to do?
What tips can you give me to make sure I don't screw the pooch on this?
Anyone have any ideas how to go about finding a frame to start a project like this with?

Any and all ideas are truly appreciated.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

For sure.
I saw one on the web a few weeks ago for sale (restored) that was a dark purple, metalic flake.

I love the 67 Fastback, but for me a 69 California special is the coolest. Your going to have to be patient finding a chassis/body, you may have to ship one from somewhere. Even if you find one, it may so rusted out, or untrue that even Foose couldn't fix it. Sounds like a fun project, but it will be time consuming, and expensive both monetary, and time wise. Great project for you, and Wildman.
