Re: Marlins Stadium Virtually Deserted For Game
That is crazy!
The Marlins had to feel a tad bit embarrassed I would suspect.

Re: Marlins Stadium Virtually Deserted For Game
Well this actually happens quite a bit in baseball.
After 130 or so games, and the team is out of the playoff mix its hard to draw decent crowds, especially in Miami where its about a million degrees this time of year.

Chuch.

If we are out of the playoff hunt, combined with some early cold weather - the Twinkies will be awfully lonely.
It isn't like football, where there are only 16 games and every one is an event, even if not in the playoffs anymore.
There are just too many games in the baseball season for my taste.
It is the same problem I have following basketball and hockey.
I like all three sports, but simply don't have the time to follow them.Zeus wrote:
When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

In addition to the fact that the temp was in the 90s with high humidity, the stadium location is the number one reason why this would happen.
According to Marlins fans-
-If you go to a Marlins game, that is ALL you do. There's nothing next door or down the street. No shopping. No dining."
-"But what if the stadium was in downtown Miami where it was once slated to be? Now the problem is fixed. You'd have people attending Marlins games on "spur-of-the-moment" decision."
This is why I dont see this happening with the new Twins stadium.
Although they may only sell 10,000 tickets when they're out of the hunt, the location will be its savior.
Chuch.
