You can't get THAT big by eating and not exercising. That has got to be a hormonal problem of some sort. At some point, your stomach would stop expanding because of all of the weight on top of it, so it's not like you could continue to eat more and more and more until you explode like the dude in The Meaning of Life. To gain 900 lbs. in 18 years you have to have a hormonal problem."VikesfaninWis" wrote:
Who knows what happened? For all we know he has a medical problem with his thyroid that caused his massive weight gain. It's not always a question of simply watching what you eat or exercising more. How did he go from 290lbs at age 22 to 1,200lbs at age 40? He gained 910lbs in 18 years, and don't know how? If I weighed 290lbs at age 22, and I started gaining weight, I would do something about it.. I am shocked that this guy isn't dead right now.. At 1200lbs, he has to have all kinds of medical problems.. He should go for gastric bypass surgery. Hope everything goes well for the guy..

Re: Man weighing 1,200 pounds seeks life-saving surgery
Wow. How can anyone gain that much weight? I mean, there comes a point (usually about 260 pounds) where body type bis an inadequate explanation and it becomes all your fault. You'd have to eat enough food to feed about five people to get that fat! So I don't feel all that sorry for him. He does need surgery, though. 1200 pounds...that's not healthy.
