Man uses Barbie fishing rod to make record catch
Quote:
ELKIN, N.C. - David Hayes' granddaughter just ask him to hold her Barbie rod and reel while she went to the bathroom. He did. And seconds later he landed the state record channel catfish at 21 pounds, 1 ounce.
Alyssa's father had bought the pink Barbie fishing rod for Christmas and she had caught a few bluegill before her grandfather hauled in the catfish.
The Winston-Salem Journal reported the catch Aug. 5 in eastern Wilkes County has been certified as a record by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission...........

Re: Man uses Barbie fishing rod to make record catch
Thats what this country needs these days, more stories, just like that....congrats on the Catch Grandpa...
Re: Man uses Barbie fishing rod to make record catch
North Carolina must not have very many channel cats if that is a state record.
Re: Man uses Barbie fishing rod to make record catch
Strange, I tried fishing for Sunfish the same way but didn't get near the results.

David Hayes caught the record-breaking fish from a private pond while fishing
It was in a private pond. My guess is this will be much like the Bigfoot story. More than likely he fattened up the fish and then posed for the picture. look at the pond behind him, it was probably the size of a swimming pool. But then again the hunting shows are full of hunts where guys shoot real big deer, bear etc in fenced in areas and sell it to the public as great hunting.
Anyway, the story sounds fishy to me.

Try using a Popeill's Pocket Fisherman. They're amazing.
