Man Digs 60-Foot-Deep Hole in Yard

I wonder if he found anything while digging. Some people have that disease where they cant finish projects.

Rescue crews pulled a man who was buried up to his waist in dirt from a nine-foot hole in the city of Ramsey Thursday afternoon.

The man dug the hole himself, but It's not immediately clear how he ended up in the hole. He called police from his cell phone.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. at a home on Radium and 144th Lane in the northern suburb. He was rescued just before 4 p.m. and transported to a local hospital. Initial reports were that he was not seriously injured.

Not as dumb as you think. The article said that he hired two men to do the digging. The real dummies are the diggers. Cant imagine being in a 60 foot deep hole. Maybe that's how it felt when Les Steckel was head coach.

Actually, say the bottom of the hole was big enough for two guys to work in, say 6'x6' the top of a sixty foot deep whole would have to be about 3 to 4 x's the width of the bottom to be safe....Thats like a hole 24 to 30' in diameter at the top.......CRAZY.....I've actually know two guys killed in a hole only 5 feet deep.......... :cry:

In defense of the guy who dug the hole. He was looking for GOLD!!!! And he claims his gold detector kept saying there was more gold. He hired two workers to do all the digging. Sounds like he obviously knew what he was doing. If he actually hit a huge chunk of gold like his detector was saying he would, I am thinking we would all be singing a diffrent song right now. The guy is not dumb however.
