A 20-year-old Aurora man has been charged with felony cyberstalking after he allegedly sent threatening e-mails to a Playboy Playmate who is dating a Chicago Bears player.
According to the Kane County state's attorney's office, Edson Diaz contacted Jennifer Walcott -- Miss August 2001 -- through her MySpace Web page at least twice.
Diaz was arrested Monday night after Aurora police served a search warrant at his home, police said.
Diaz was released on $20,000 bond and is believed to be the first person in Aurora charged with cyberstalking.
On May 12, a representative from Playboy magazine contacted Aurora police to make them aware Walcott had been receiving threats from an unknown person who lives in Aurora, prosecutors said.
Aurora police do not believe Diaz knew Walcott, 30, who lives in Arizona. In his e-mails, Diaz allegedly called Walcott "white trash" and repeatedly threatened her. In all capital letters and with little punctuation, Diaz allegedly told Walcott she is pathetic and shameful.
"WHEN I FIND OUT WHERE YOU LIVE IM GONNA GET YOU, THIS IS BARELY THE BEGINNING, THIS ISN'T OVER," he wrote in one note, prosecutors said.
In another, Diaz allegedly tells Walcott she better learn how to protect herself.
"TIME FOR YOU TO SUFFER, LEARN HOW TO FIGHT WHITE GIRL BECAUSE WHEN WE FIND OUT WHERE YOU LIVE WERE GONNA GET YOU AND THE REST OF YOU PIGS," he wrote, according to prosecutors.
Walcott is dating Adam Archuleta, the 6-foot, 223-pound safety for the Chicago Bears.
According to prosecutors, Walcott expressed concerns about Diaz's alleged threats because she is planning a move to the Chicago area before the season starts.
"He could just be an angry guy who has no luck with girls and decided to act in a real dumb way," Walcott's manager Dan O'Grady said.
