Loney Interviews with Arizona
Mark Craig, Star Tribune
Last update: January 03, 2006 – 8:29 PM
The Arizona Cardinals have received permission from the Vikings to interview offensive coordinator/line coach Steve Loney for their vacant offensive line coaching position.
Loney had not been contacted as of Tuesday evening, but was expecting a call today.
Meanwhile, former Vikings offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, who holds the same position with the Dolphins, will interview for the Houston Texans head coaching job today. If Linehan gets the job, Loney is virtually guaranteed an interview for the offensive line job with the Texans.
Loney's son, Matt, is an attorney in Phoenix. Houston, however, probably would offer Loney more job security.
The Cardinals have had back-to-back losing seasons under former Vikings head coach Dennis Green. He made some changes to his staff this week, including firing former Viking Everett Lindsay as his line coach.Kentucky Vikes Fan

Re: Loney Interviews with Arizona
Loney is a good OL coach but he is no Alex Gibbs and the best thing about Kubiak if he becomes our coach is that we should be able to run the ball with the Denver type of line play.
