Cool London 2012 - irreverant look at the Games

For those that haven't noticed the Olympics officially open Friday, though competition started today with the football tournament beginning.

This thread isn't for discussing the general run of the mill stuff but I'll be looking to post up bits showing the cockups and mistakes that will inevitably happen during the Games - the bits that the organisers won't want to publicise

If nothing else it will remind Johnson14 of home and just show that no-one can laugh at themselves better than us Brits !

and so to start, day 1 and already we have.....

From the BBC live text today ..
' Cultural Secretary Jeremy Hunt was left red-faced during an interview this morning when a bell he was ringing flew of the handle and narrowly avoided hitting a group of women standing nearby. He had just been saying the Games could not completely go off without a hitch. Let's hope this was the hitch then.'

Now we know why his name rhymes with apt description of himself

Team GB had a great day today, the girls in the rowing (who only started rowing 4 yrs ago!) and Bradly *Tour De France* Wiggins both bringing home gold, Froome taking bronze in the same race, and we took Silver in the mens 200m breaststroke.
