Lock your doors and hide your cash!
When I was a kid, my dad would take my brothers and I around the house and make sure all the doors and windows were locked.
Then, we had to gather all of our money which usually consisted of change we had collected, but anyway, we'd get all of our money and hide it in our bedrooms.
We took all of these precautions because our Uncle Sam was coming to steal all of our money.
We did this every year in the nights leading up to April 15.
I guess this gives you a glimpse into the life of a son of a tax lawyer.
For years I thought I really had an Uncle Sam who was coming to steal my money.
Either way, he was right.
Uncle Sam is coming.
God save us.
The 16th Amendment of the United States Constitution is and always will be the greatest travesty in the history of this great country.
Re: Lock your doors and hide your cash!

My tax accountant told me if I take into account ALL taxes, I'm paying close to 50% of my gross to some form of local, state or federal entity...
:(
Re: Lock your doors and hide your cash!
HOLY CRAP, Pac! And Washington doens't even have an income tax!
That does suck. And just to qualify my earlier statement, I'm not crazy about high taxes (who is?), but
I'm not going to be calling for the repeal of the 16th Amendment, either.

Re: Lock your doors and hide your cash!
I for one have to hide almost all of my Navy retirement, deduct 150 out every payday, claim Married with 0 dependants (when I have two), my wife claims single with 0 dependants, and we finally start getting something back at the end of the year.
I know the goal is to break about even, but, comeon, I would like to have my money when I am young and shouldn't have to hide it all.
