so 35,000 people die every year from the normal flu, but we are freaked out about some mexikans ("see" button doesn't work for some reason) and one kid that died from this strain? I even heard the strain is weaker then the flu that hits every winter.

Should it be monitered and dealt with, yes.
Is this being played up like usual, yes.
News stations need big headline news, this can be headline news when you start throwing around the word pandemic alot.
Next year this will be another SARS.
