    Re: Kingdom Come.

Well, I'm new to the site but I'm a hip hop fan for life.
Hip hop pretty much consumes me but my second love is professional sports.
    I love talking hip hop.
I could do it for hours.

...Thy will be done, in Earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And deliver us from evil and not into temptation, for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Is that what you were getting at?

    Re: Kingdom Come.

To be honest, I'm not excited for Kingdom come one bit.

From what I've heard, it didn't get good reviews, which is why I'm suprised that you think it's a classic.

I like Jay-Z, but he's far past his prime, and should have never came out of retirement.

Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint are his best albums.

I'm not as excited for this Jay Z album as I have been for his past albums in particular the black album but I still think he deserves credit for what he's done in the game.
I wish he wouldn't have come out of retirement either because he went out on top and I don't know if he can do it again.
I don't want him to end up going out like MJ with the Wizards.
Regardless of how good this new album is I still think he has to be top 10 on anyones list.
My fav. Jay albums are the Black Album, The Blueprint, Vol. 2, and Reasonable Doubt.

    Jay-Z is NOT hip-hop.

    He is RAP.

Check out good hip hop here:

EDIT: I wanted to clarify: I'm not hating on Jay-Z himself. He supports alot of good charities and seems like a decent (if not a bit cocky) guy.

Because I don't dig his tunes doesn't mean they aren't good. I'm just not in to self-righteous music. Listen to what you like.

This is just one dude's opinion.

You people who think Jay-Z is a commercial rapper who only talks about money, cash, and hoes are mistaken. He often uses a single to promote his album, as all rappers do to help their record sales. A perfect example is Big Pimpin which was his first single on The Life and Times of S.Carter.

After you listen to one of his albums, you will find out that he talks about stuff that is worth listening to.

Jay-Z is hip hop, and a very big part of it at that. Like it or not he is the best emcee in the game right now (retired or not). What I can't stand is some of these close-minded underground heads that think if your on MTV or mainstream radio alot the music is garbage. Jay-Z is a very deep, clever and talented lyricist, with a wicked rhyme scheme. If you don't get it, fine, but to say Jay-Z is not hip hop is crazy! Rhymesayers was mentioned above as "real hip hop" and it is (I'm a big fan). You might be surprised at how much Jay-Z has influenced alot of those cats. I know for a fact that Brother Ali (the second best) looks up to him a great deal.

These underground backpackers think I'm crazy, cuz my favorite emcee's are Biggie Smalls and Jay-Z!!! - Apathy

It is kind of funny that he has a song called "Money, cash, hoes".
    I agree with you though.
Sure, his cd's have their fair share of those types of songs, there are also tons of songs that deal with more personal and important issues.

I like Jay-Z's flow...don't really buy his albums...but he does have skillz...as opposed to F'n P. Diddy...that dude made his cash off the back of Biggie...and he has NO business rapping on ANYONE's albums, including his own.
You wanna talk about a SELLOUT...point the finger at Sean Combs!
