    Kingdom Come.

I know we got alot of Hip Hop fans on the board so I thought I'd share some thoughts.
Just got the brand new Jay'Z CD "Kingdom Come" yesterday.Anyone who is anticipaiting this album will not be let down. From the first track "The Prelude" to IMO the hottest track on the cd "Do you wanna ride", the cd is nothing but an instant classic. Not Jay's best cd, but deffinitly not his worst. The cd drops on 11-21 and I suggest picking it up.

I can't stand "rappers" that just talk about how cool they are, and how much "cheese" they be rollin in.

    Jay-Z is NOT hip-hop.

    He is RAP.

Check out good hip hop here:

EDIT: I wanted to clarify: I'm not hating on Jay-Z himself. He supports alot of good charities and seems like a decent (if not a bit cocky) guy.

Because I don't dig his tunes doesn't mean they aren't good. I'm just not in to self-righteous music. Listen to what you like.

This is just one dude's opinion.

I'll just reply with a verse from Jay'Z.

    Album:The Black Album
    Song: Moment of Clarity

    The music business hate me
Cause the industry ain't make me
    Hustlers and boosters embrace me
And the music i be makin
I dumb down for my audience
    And double my dollars
    They criticize me for it
    Yet they all yell "Holla"
    If skills sold
    Truth be told
    I'd probably be
    Lyricly
    Talib Kweli
    Truthfully
I wanna rhyme like Common Sense
    (But i did five Mil)
I ain't been rhymin like Common Sense

When your sense got that much in common
    And you been hustlin since
    Your inception
    F**k perception
    Go with what makes sense
    Since
I know what i'm up against
We as rappers must decide what's most impor-tant
And i can't help the poor if i'm one of them
So i got rich and gave back
To me that's the win, win
The next time you see the homie and his rims spin
Just know my mind is workin just like them
    (The rims that is)

The Part I made bold is probably the most honest/sickest lines in the history of hip hop.Hes not dissing either or those "rappers", hes only telling the truth.Jay'Z is one of the greatest rappers/hip hopers alive. He may be commercial now, but the guy is making LOTS of money. You can say well hes not real hip hop cuz hes on commercials with Budweiser and HP.But hes a living legend and I bet all those bands/rappers you listed look up to him an awful lot.

    I'm not a huge fan of Jay-Z.
I don't like his flow, to me it is too slow and simplistic.
Personally I think he bites the syle of a lot of the greats.
To me, those lines you highlighted Williamson just show he is fully aware that he is a sell out.
Rhyme about something interesting, then I might listen.

But hey, he sells records and lots of people seem to like him.

Jay-Z switches his flow constantly, that's part of how great he is.
    He always sounds different.

I was just wondering who you think Jay-Z bites his flow from, considering he's been around as long or longer then the rappers who most would say are the "best" besides Rakim.
    I also don't see how he's a sell out.
Is it because he has prolly the largest fan base of any rapper alive?
If it's simply about the money I don't see how he sold out considering he built his own label from the ground up and never took offers from other labels even though I'm sure he could've.
If selling out is obtaining a fan base large enough to be considered main stream then Common and Talib Kweli could only dream of being considered sell outs some day.
No disrespect intended to either of those rappers.

WOW, where did all these Hip-Hop fans come from?
In the P.J.'s, my blend tape plays, bullets are strays
    Young bitches is grazed
Each block, is like a maze, full of black rats trapped
    Plus the Island is packed
From what I hear in all the stories when my peoples come back, black
