Kevin Garnett to the Chicago Bulls almost complete?????

As part of the deal, the Bulls are believed to have promised to continue their pursuit of Minnesota Timberwolves star forward Kevin Garnett, who could be the final piece to the championship puzzle.

The Bulls believe they can revive the talks if they sweeten their offer of center Tyson Chandler and forward Luol Deng with recent first-round draft pick Tyrus Thomas, whom the Timberwolves are known to covet.

You left out an important part of that article.

The Daily Southtown reported last week that the Bulls were among several teams that inquired about Garnett prior to the NBA draft. Timberwolves operations chief Kevin McHale made it known that Garnett was not available.

I don't think KG is going anywhere this season. McHale needs to get some veteran players in FA to put around him and I think the Wolves will be right back in the playoff hunt.

I also found this article, which strongly suggests that Chandler won't be part of any trade for KG.

Update: Chandler may be headed to New Orleans in a deal for P. J. Brown, ESPN.com reports.

Recommendation: The Hornets are considering the trade, which would give them a young power forward/center in Chandler, who is locked up for another five years, though New Orleans may have selected a similar player in Hilton Armstrong in this year's draft. Brown is in the last year of his contract, which would give the Bulls even more cap relief next season, and he has expressed a desire to play with a contender. The Bulls also have explored Chandler trade scenarios with the Hawks (via an Al Harrington sign-and-trade) and the Warriors for Troy Murphy.

I am really hoping that the Lakers will continue talks with Garnett that they had last season. Think what Kobe and KG could do together.

AI won't be playing in Philly next year...you can take that to the bank. Too bad we don't have enough money to bring him to MN to play with Garnett.

If the Bulls acquire KG, right after they agreed to a deal with Ben Wallace, then watch out for the Bulls again.. I loved the Bulls as a kid right up to the point that Jerry Krause dismantled the team.. I got so pissed off that I literally stopped watching Basketball all together.. I am now just getting into basketball again.. I just may start watching the Bulls again, this time however, as a casual fan of the NBA..
