I really did not even want to give a reaction to this West fellow. I felt it was a cheap shot.

I ask myself, "what good can come out of his comments?" Are people going to be rescued faster? No. Is it going to take away the pain and misery? No.

Yet, even this morning more rescuers came under fire. Now, they have to send in the Marines. If somebody happens to get shot, I am sure it will boil down into a race issue. God its sad, so sad that people can behave this way in America.

Actually, I don't really like his music that much...too mainstream for me...his music tries too hard to be different, but really isn't. The best music is not manufactured, but comes from the soul...and his music is pretty much soulless. Other rappers and songwriters speak from the heart...Kanye is just repeating things he heard from someone else. Before any of his fans start bashing me, just know that I do listen to rap (in addition to just about any other genre to some extent), but I just don't like the mainstream stuff that is played on the radio. Hard core rock, hard core country, hard core rap, hard core blues, hard core soul...just give me the stuff that comes from the heart, not from any desire to make a hit song...and I usually know it when I hear it, not because someone tells me that the artist is good or that everyone else likes it. The same holds true for movies and books...I will know that I like it when I experience it, no matter who the person is who creates it...that is the beauty of art in its purest form...totally inspired by the need to create, not to make money. Money is only a side benefit to the true artist...those artists know that their craft will provide whatever material benefits they need, so they focus on the craft and don't worry about acquiring riches.
