Mauer just hit another single. He is now third in AL voting for catchers.

sure Mauer could be MVP.........but his teams in 3rd place and almost definetly won't make the playoffs this year
its not like their bad.. last time i checked at least..
11 games out isnt very good either. They have a ton of work to do if they want to battle with Cleveland, Chicago, Boston, Toronto and/or New York for essentially two playoff spots........

How do ya like them apples?!

Yep. It is a screw job, small market teams. Do not lead All-Star voting when he should, does not have any deals like he should. Pssh. That is why I hate the Yankees and the Red Sox. Everyone knows them and nobody knows anyone else.

It is not Mauer's fault he does not have RBI's. No one gets on when he swinging the bat, it is easy for Morneau to get RBI's because Mauer is ahead of him. How the MVP is set up, Mauer would not get it this year. If how one managed the pitching staff, attitude in the club house, and avergae counted then he would get it.

There is not a snowball chance in hell he wins it this year. You can't compete with people like Ortiz, Manny, A-Rod (Even though he had a bad june) If he wins it this year I will personally give everyone on this site 20 bucks. Im not saying he is a bad player, but first, he doesnt have much power and second of all he plays for the Twins who do not have a big enought market.
WOW!!! $20 X 6022 members (and counting)...if that doesn't get the lurkers to join, nothing will. I hope that you have the cash handy JUST IN CASE Mauer just starts LIGHTING IT UP!!!
Alrite. Ill come up with the money. Thats how comfident I am. You would problaby have to cash your checks in the year 3000 because right now I'm working on allowance money

Thank you Josdin for the sig

I voted for him 25 times. That's the most you can do, y'know. Then again, I DO have more than one e-mail account...

The All-Star balloting has ALWAYS been a popularity contest - ALWAYS has, ALWAYS will. There are always PLENTY of instances where guys get in who don't deserve it, and guys don't who DO deserve it. Mauer DESERVES to get in, and he will as a manager's choice. He probably won't start.

5-5 last night 4-5 the night before. This kid DESERVES it! He may not get it because of our "small market" team, but that doesn't change the fact that he should be in the all star game and he should be the MVP!
