    Re: Jim Rome clocked.

Rome tried to talk like a tough guy and then cringed like a coward when backed in a corner. It looked to me like Rome acted like the girl in that situation.

Yes. He was calling him Chris as in Chris Everett instead of Jim Everett because he was getting a reputation of being "soft".

I remember this from a few years back. I like Rome, but in this case Jim Everett showed Jane Rome who the man was... Rome laid down and covered up like a little girl...

    Re: Jim Rome clocked.

I think I'll quote myself from a previous post. Just keep in mind Rome worshippers that this has nothing to do with Rome as a person or how much he knows about sports so hold off from your little tantrums.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not too big of a Rome fan. He's very good at his job and is very knowledgable, I just don't care for the tone and pace of his show.

I will now outline my dislikes for Rome in no particular order (because I'm bored).

    1. Everytime a good idea pops in his head he has to repeat it 3-4 times.
    2. Everytime an athlete does something stupid (drunk driving, arrogant to fans etc.) he will go on and on about it for at least five minutes outlining why it is stupid in every way possible and explaining what he would do if he were that particular athlete.
    3. Has to have a "cool" way of saying things. (Chicago=Chi-town, Cincinnatti=The Natti etc.) Most sportscasters do this so I'll cut him a little slack.
    4. Calls his fans "clones".
    5. Calls their opinions "takes".
    6. Can't seem to go three sentences without saying "clones" or "takes".
    7. Encourages "clones" to call and rant and they end with an amphatic "I'm out".
    8. Spends much of the show grading these rants and competes rants with other rants in a "smack off".
    9. Spends 45 seconds explaining why he won't talk about something.
    10. His stupid "clones" end their e-mails "Signed by (inanimate object)". Huh?

So what we have here is a psuedo high-pitched, fast-paced, energetic,opinion-filled show. But in the end, there is very little information gained.

    I'm out....

I personally love this instance in Sports reporting history and tend to be a big fan of Jim Rome.
I think that Rome was being a little bit of an jiggly butt in this case ... but Jim should not have been so sensitive and should have taken it with a grain of salt ... it is funny how Everett never could get pooh done and someone calles him out on it and he gets angry.
Definitely could have been staged ... but I still don't think it was.
 Again, watch the video again & see how far away from Rome's face Everett's palm is when he pulls his hand back.

It was staged. Everett never touched him.

    Re: Jim Rome clocked.

Rome is the biggest pud I have ever seen. If you are going to call a guy that again you have to be ready to fight. What was his defense he laid on his back and spread his legs. HE WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY POPULAR IN PRISON!!!

He is that tough guy that never played a sport or did anything athletically. He is going to be another John Clayton in a year or two. Wait until his hair starts to fall out, they will be on a doublemint commercial. He's a POS!!

There s only two things stopping you - fear and common sense!! The Truth you CAN"T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!
