OK, maybe I should rephrase the question. Would you:

Save the immortal souls for all of humanity, or

Have the Vikings win a Super Bowl?

As an alterante, which would be more painful?

Being crucified, or

Watching the Vikes lose four MORE Super Bowls?

I think watching the Vikes lose four more super bowls would be more painful.

You wouldn't be tortured for a few days.
It would be four whole years....

Jim Caviezel played Jesus in "The Passion of the Christ" and -- I am not making this up -- has said that to method-act sorrow on the cross, he thought about the Minnesota Vikings' Super Bowl losses.

I wonder how many of us would give ourselves up for crucifiction for a Super Bowl...

Jim Caviezel is Scott Linehan's brother-in-law and Linehan was the OC of the Vikes at the time "The Passion" was filmed. Probably had something to do with the comment.

However, Wikipedia lists him as a Minnesota Vikings fan.

I posted this yesterday, but somehow another one of my posts got deleted.

I have a hard time believing he could dredge up that much sorrow over the memory of 4 Vikings Super Bowl loses.

Jim Caviezel was born in September of 1968 which means he would have only been....

1 year old at the time of the Vikings 1st loss....

5, 6 & 8 years old at the time of their 2nd thru 4th losses.

A guy can be passionate about the Vikings, but at those ages, c'mon. Especially 30 years later.

My mom has a statue of jesus in the kitchen with a stuffed bear vikes jersey on him. I was shocked that my mom (goes to church every sunday) did it and I asked her why and she told me that she honestly believes jesus would've rooted for the vikings. She takes it off whenever there's somebody visiting.
