Jenn Sterger Urged To Use Less Passive Voice, More Pictures of Her Boobs

SportsIllustrated.com columnist Jenn Sterger was urged by her editor again today to limit the amount of passive voice in her columns, telling her to push for more active and engaging prose or – better yet – to just substitute the words in her columns for pictures of her knockers.

“After Jenn got all that publicity a couple of years ago for sporting her sublime cleavage at Florida State football games, which then led to Maxim and Playboy spreads, we naturally thought: ‘This girl could be a great columnist!’” says SI.com managing editor Jack McCutcheon. “Unfortunately, she hasn’t progressed the way we might have liked in her writing, but we still think she has some great assets that can get people to click on her columns. Namely, the two circular, fatty skin bags affixed to the upper, front portion of her torso and the smooth, tanned patch of skin between them.”

Many of Sterger’s assignments with SI.com have sent her to report on the social scene at college sporting events on campuses across the country.

“Our goal with sending Jenn on these assignments was two-fold,” says McCutcheon. “We hoped that exposing her to new experiences would really make her writing come alive and see her really explore the craft. Our second hope was that she would get drunk at college parties and e-mail or text us pictures of her delicious jubblies. Unfortunately, neither of these has happened yet.”

Sterger says she knows she is growing as a writer and is confident she will one day be known as one of the best in the business.

“When I started at SI.com, my vocabulary was a lot smaller than it is now,” she said. “For instance, the only word I knew for these was ‘tits.’ I’d say at parties, ‘Hey, everybody! Who wants to see my tits?’ But Sports Illustrated gave me this thing called a thesaurus and now I call them all kinds of things – from breasts and bosom, to fun bags and mammaries. You should see the reaction when I’m at clubs and say: ‘Hey, everybody! Who wants to see my bosom?’ Usually there’s a few seconds of silence and them someone yells out: ‘Stop speaking whatever language it is you’re speaking and show us your tits, Frenchy.’ It makes me feel so smart.”

Works for me!
