Minicounterpoint: Vikings’ Johnson a proven winner

    By Benjamin Wideman
    PackersNews.com

If you need a quarterback who’ll lose the game by throwing an ugly interception returned for a touchdown in overtime, then the Lions’ Jeff Garcia is your guy.

If you need a savvy, class-act quarterback who has a Super Bowl ring, the Vikings’ Brad Johnson is your guy. Minnesota and Detroit clash Sunday, and the favorite has to be Minnesota, because of Johnson’s leadership, productivity and 14 years of NFL experience.

Although the Vikings are struggling to find an identity, it’s not because of Johnson. With starting QB Daunte Culpepper out for the season with torn knee ligaments, Minnesota gets a fresh start, so expect it to rally around Johnson.

Johnson, who’s making his 100th career start Sunday, has earned respect around the NFL because of his ability to adapt and excel in tough circumstances. He’ll add to that legacy Sunday when he beats Detroit and rallies Minnesota to the NFC North championship.

The Lions will be trying their hardest to get their hands on our Johnson. Our Johnson will need to be wrapped in an offensinve line of protection. .....Nevermind

p.s. I miss Robert Smith too.

You know, years ago when Brad was our QB,I told everyone that he was the kind of QB that is gonna win a super bowl.I was alittle frosted when we traded him and was proved right. He is tough,a leader, and fearless.I just wish he was about 5 years younger.
If winning isn,t everything, why keep score?
