Re: It's coooold
So I go home for Thanksgiving (home is Sioux Falls, SD) and it's not so bad.
Temp in the 40's or so on Thursday.
Friday, kind of the same deal, but cloudy all day.
Saturday, a little colder.
Then Sunday hits.....drizzle, turning to freezing rain by night.
This sucks!
I go to leave for the airport on Monday morning about 0600 hrs, and all the roads have ice on them.
I backed out of my mom's garage, went to stop, and just kept going because the driveway was covered with ice!
The first flight was canceled, and I got bumped to a later flight, only to have all of the evenings flights canceled due to weather (fog).
I was awakened by two loud claps of thunder (?) in the middle of the night!
I get out of SF this morning okay on my flight to MLPS, only to be delayed 1 hour there because of lightening!
Lightnening in November!
What's all of this got to do with the topic you say?
It was friggin' cold for this Arizona transplant!
Snowinapril called me a wuss, but he lives in Texas, so I will forgive him.
I was thinking about moving back to SD, but you can toss that idea out the window!!
I have lived in AZ for almost 6 years, and I don't function if it falls below 50 degrees!
My hat is off to all of you that live up north.
I just don't know if I could do it again.
It's sad, because the people there (as a whole) are much more pleasant than the people here in the southwest.
My daughter had a good time scraping the quarter inch of ice off of our rental car.
It was her first time doing that.
She did the windows, then moved on to the rest of the car.
I told her NOT to scrape the painted surfaces!
Again, it was her first time!
Okay, I'm done ranting and babbling!
I'm glad to be back in Tucson!

Peace through superior firepower!

Don't worry, I am a wuss too, in humid 75 degree end of Nov weather.

Re: It's coooold
It was in the 20's in Portland today, which is pretty cold for these parts. Of course, I grew up in Nodak, so it's no skin off my back. Heck, we even got a bit of snow today, but it didn't stop me from biking 4 miles to work. Beats getting stuck in traffic with a bunch of Washingtonians and Californians!

Re: It's coooold
We had a MASSIVE snow storm two nights ago where I live and now my car is completely barried.
Good thing I have so many awesome college football games to watch today.

In Southeastern sconnie temps got down to 7 last night, and it is currently 25 degrees Farenheit right now.

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!

Re: It's coooold
It was 87 here today, and I spent my day swimming and drinking booze at an island resort. I'll be in minny in 2 weeks to freeze my gonads off.
