I am not bashing you or trying to offend you at all. M point was that you seemed to criticize Bush for not volunteering for combat (thats the way I read you comment). No, he did not volunteer for combat...but he did serve. Even though it was the Air National Guard, its still service."ultravikingfan" wrote:
I am not the one sending troops to Iraq and Afghanistan to do what I was unwilling to do in my younger years like Bush is.

I am curious, did you ever volunteer to even serve in the military?NOT NOW...but it would have been nice if he had volunteered to go back when he was in the service!
You can bash me all you want for not being military, but that was a choice that I made when I was much younger and when there were no major conflicts that we were involved in. The peacetime military is not for everyone...but for those who choose it, more power to them. If a draft was instituted and I was chosen, I would go without hesitation...scared, yes...but because the situation would warrant it, I would go and be the best soldier that I could be.
I am not really offended by your comment...just wanted you to know a little bit more about my thought processes regarding this. I hope that you can look past me not being on Bush's side...just think...in three years, you won't have to defend him anymore!
Thats all.
Peace brother.

Re: Iraq, Katrina and Bush
I think we have demonstrated once again why politics needs to stay off this site.
I will be locking this thread, and all future political debates for the next three weeks will be automatically deleted. The biggest problem we get around here is when people argue over a non-winnable issue: the president. There is nothing you can do to change someone else's opinion, so blowing your top here and pissing people off is like taking a dump in your mouth. It just makes you a shit-talker.
If you can't play nice, don't play in political threads.
