    Re: I Voted.

The wife and I just got back from our voting precinct. And the nice thing is that we didn't cancel each other's votes. We pretty much agree politically.

I have voted in every election I could since I was 18. While my political stance has changed over the years as I've gotten older and wiser, my belief in being an active citizen and voting has not changed.

And, on a local and national level, I hope the best candidates win (especially the ones I voted for ;D).

Voting for one dumb jiggly butt out of two dumb asses, that are not going to change a gol 'darnit thing is a waste of my time and energy.
Now what I think would be cool is if NOBODY voted.
All these guys care about is getting office to be a control freak and get paid well in the process.
    Screw Voting!
If you don't like who has been nominated for the offices in your local elections, then do something about it.
At this stage, you could write-in someone who you believe would be a better choice.

That's why for one of my choices, I wrote in Captain Lou Albano

The decisions made by those people - especially at my personal local level - will have a direct impact upon my life.
Your taxes will go up regardless of who is in office, directly impacting your lifestyle.

You need to realize that, while flawed in the traditional duality of our two-party system, it is an amazing process which we use to affect change upon our government.

I've realized that before you were even born or were still a baby. I've voted in every election for the past 29 years. It's definitely flawed.

For example, many people vote straight ticket for their party & have no idea how those individuals stand on the issues.

Or you can sit on the sideline and whine and complain about how the politicians are screwing everything up - all the while ignoring that you let your opportunity to be an influence pass you by.
I vote & will continue to vote. That gives me the right to complain about how the politicians are screwing everything up.

When those individuals get voted out of office, there is another one voted in who makes little or no difference & still will screw something up or vote a different way than what I would, contradicting what he said in the first place that won my vote.

Everyone complains about the politicians in one way or another. This is what prompts Americans to go to the polls & hopefully make a change with their vote.

I couldn't vote because I haven't lived in my new location long enough, but I'm sure glad that stupid commercials are over.

The reason I find it funny is because I actually went to school for political science and still don't think it makes a diffrence one way or another how you vote.
    It's all the same crap.
Our system is flawed and if nobody noticed that when Bush cheated his way into being our president the 1st time then you are all wearing blindfolds.
Once you get burnt once, why put your hand back on the burner?
You don't, it's something you learn when your young, and it's the same way I look at voting.
The only way I'll vote again, is when a normal person with normal house hold issues, stands up and runs for office.
When I see a man that has 3 or 4 children who pays day care and lives check from check and see's the normal struggles americans go through everyday I will refuse to vote.
So laugh all you want, but it is what it is.
Your no better then me, we just have diffrent veiws on life and politics.
you certainly sound like a person who graduated college

    Re: I Voted.

Someone was curious about the percentage of voters who voted in this election:
