If you don't like who has been nominated for the offices in your local elections, then do something about it.I do my civic duties every day of my life.
I work all the time and with that money they receive my taxes which is a very civil duty.
Voting for one dumb jiggly butt out of two dumb asses, that are not going to change a gol 'darnit thing is a waste of my time and energy.
Now what I think would be cool is if NOBODY voted.
All these guys care about is getting office to be a control freak and get paid well in the process.
Screw Voting!
At this stage, you could write-in someone who you believe would be a better choice.
Chances are, there are likely some offices on the ballot for which you do have a strong choice about the issue, one way or another.
There was a US Senate, US Congress, state senate, state house, many other state-wide offices, mayor, city council, sheriff and judge elections on my ballot today, as well as a state consitutional amendment.
The decisions made by those people - especially at my personal local level - will have a direct impact upon my life.
You need to realize that, while flawed in the traditional duality of our two-party system, it is an amazing process which we use to affect change upon our government.
You can get more deeply involved through direct participation (either with a traditional party or a different sort of movement) or participate on lesser terms with your vote.
Or you can sit on the sideline and whine and complain about how the politicians are screwing everything up - all the while ignoring that you let your opportunity to be an influence pass you by.
Simple choice, really.

Re: I Voted.
Why I vote because I qm glad that I can. If my father was still alive I would encourage anyone who does not vote to listen to his story about how he spent the majority of his life not being able to vote simply because of the color of his skin

Re: I Voted.
I find it funny that some of you think I'm the moron on this subject.
The reason I find it funny is because I actually went to school for political science and still don't think it makes a diffrence one way or another how you vote.
It's all the same crap.
Our system is flawed and if nobody noticed that when Bush cheated his way into being our president the 1st time then you are all wearing blindfolds.
Once you get burnt once, why put your hand back on the burner?
You don't, it's something you learn when your young, and it's the same way I look at voting.
The only way I'll vote again, is when a normal person with normal house hold issues, stands up and runs for office.
When I see a man that has 3 or 4 children who pays day care and lives check from check and see's the normal struggles americans go through everyday I will refuse to vote.
So laugh all you want, but it is what it is.
Your no better then me, we just have diffrent veiws on life and politics.

I couldn't agree more. I'm not voting for this exact reason. I heard today that between Klobuchar and Kennedy they have spent $14 million on smear ads against each other.I do my civic duty everyday.
As far as voting goes, both are idiots & it's a matter of which is the lessor of the two idiots.
For once, I'd like to see a candidate run & pose a campaign on his ideals, rather than what the other candidate failed to do or what dirt he has in his past.
In my local, most run unopposed & neither of the sherriffs candidates are worthwhile having in office.
I'll vote, but some years it feels like a moot point.
$14 million.
That money could go towards so many other good things besides making the other person look like s***. Either talk about the actual issues you are representing or give it away to a decent charity. At least save the d*** greenbacks, something of which Americans do only 1% of the time.
