I could really use all your help now, as friends and PPO....

    PPO members..

I've been a cig, smoker for many years, and still am..

I realize many of you are young, and probably never picked up this deadly and nasty habit...

But I've been wanting to quit, and I want to do it for myself finaly, not for family or friends or anyone else..

For me, because I like myself, and I don't want to put myself in the ground before my time..

Anyone else ever kick the habit here?...

I'm willing to listen to all and hope this will be a new start for me...

I LOVE THE SMELL OF VICTORY IN THE MORNING AIR.

I have never smoked, but many people close to me started and have quit. Their lives seem to have changed for the better, and they feel much more comfortable. Good luck, its the right choice! :thumbleft:

set a date like Thankgiving or Christmas and keep saying to yourself, I am going to quit this day. Say it everyday, everytime you light one up. Good Luck!!

I just quit, I think its been 3 months. I used the gum, but not as instructed. I only chewed whenever I had a bad craving and then quit the gum when it was gone. I had the mentality that everyone thought I was going to fail which made me try harder.
It helped that the Twin Cities banned smoking and raised cigs $1 a pack. I just smoked myself stupid for a weekend, gradually smoked less for 5 days and then quit and went right to the gum. Had my last smoke in the Metrodome!
Good luck, and if you fail, try try again.

good luck Ned. i personally have never smoked a cigarette in my life. i lived with my mom and step dad who smoked their fair share of cigarettes a day and since i was a little kid, i hung out with them and actually developed a very nasty cough that lasted for a couple years. every since then i swore i'd never smoke a cigarette.

my mom actually ended up going to a hypnotist to kick the habit and she hasn't smoked in almost 2 years now. once again Ned good luck and i wish you the very best!

    Thanks Josdin

i have never smoked and never plan to, ever. i dont see why you cant just stop. like just dont do it any more. stop buying them. start with that. try that gum stuff or the patch. instead of smoking, do something else like reading a book or posting here even. whatever it takes. just dont do it anymore.

Its insulting that you think its that easy. Nicotine is more addicting than heroin. If it were that easy, why would everyone struggle with it so much? I had tried to quit 4 times before, and it would only take one drunken cig to launch me back into it even 10 years after. Since you "don't see," just write "good luck" or something since you don't understand addiction...at all.
