    Re: Hurricane IKE!!!!!

If anyone is watching the Weather Channel report, Jim Cantori is about 10 blocks from my house. The surge is massive.
If this storm doesn't move more east, this is going to be bad for my home.
    Frick!

    Re: Hurricane IKE!!!!!

I left yesterday, I am at my brother's place in OKC.
I was suppose to do some work on Sun in Dallas, but that has been canceled.

Got my gear and I am safe!
    This is some crazy pooh!
I am hoping that we only get water damage and no structural damage.
Our storage is all under the house, on the lower level.
Tried to find the most important stuff and put it on the second floor.
Insurance won't cover any belonging on the lower level.

I just want Sunday to come and have this over, whatever happen will have happened by then.

    Re: Hurricane IKE!!!!!

The freak'n surge has already started.
It is up to the height of the seawall right now.
The seawall when built was 17 feet high........... but it has sunk 2 feet and Jim just said that in some places it was more like 10 to 12 ft.
The surge has started and I think the surge will be another 10 ft plus waves.

Hope your place will be ok Snow and Michael.

I work for a ultilty company here and we always send crews for "Mutual Assistance".
Maybe we need to send some crews for PP.O mutual assistance.
We can arm them with beer and laptops!

    Video.
I would like introduce where I live.
    LOL!

    Watch some of these clips.
You can see the water coming over the seawall in the 2nd and 3rd videos.
The part of the Island that is under water is the west end where there is no seawall.

No kidding? Best of luck to you too...

That part about the advances in housing construction is pretty cool.
    Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

    Thanks Ultra!

I think I will start drinking early today.
    I have some supplies.
I had room in the car so the Franziskaner Weissbier made the trip with me in a trusty cooler.

Kemah is going to be under water, but hopefully you do not get the wave action.
Galveston Island and my home should serve as breaker for the whole Bay/Houston ship channel.

    Where did you evacuate to?
