I hope it somehow gets weaker because I want to see New Orleans before I die

As Gustav nears, New Orleans becomes a ghost town

I hope that it passes over with minimal damage, unfortunately it seems this is a problem that will keep reoccurring for the New Orleans residents.

Prophet, I wish you and your buddy all the best and I hope the damage is minimal.

My sister, her husband and my two nieces live in Morgan City which is southwest of New Orleans. He is a boat captain for Tidewater and they plan to ride the storm out on the ship. I know, it sounds crazy but they continue to say that it's one of the safest places to be (that is where they rode out Katrina). Anyway, that is where they are now, with
their cat and dog, and I am nervously watching the news hoping that the outcome is good for all. It will be a long night.

I just hope my buddies house on the MS coast that we just finished doesn't get destroyed.

    The Saints are pussies. ;D

I hope your friend's house remains intact.

They need to just let that place go.
I know, easier said than done, but it was a stupid idea to build a city there as it is, and they have noone to blame except for themselves for what happened (well, not what happened, but the fact that they live there when it happened)
They need to move the saints, then slowly have peoplemove away, and let the ocean swallow that city up.
If they're gone, then really, noone cares if NO gets hammered by a hurricane anymore, because noones there.
    It WILL happen again.

    Hahaha, that's funny.

But... It's sad to see New Orleans get hit again... I feel like the city may just not come back.

It seems easy to just let the city go, but think about it for a second.
You have people who have grown up together all there lives, made connections with that city, and the people who live there.
I think it would be extremely difficult to just move on and out.
Part of your identity is in the city.
You would want to fight to make it work.
    I think we all would.

Do they have a blog about their adventures?
If so I would love to read about it.

No word from buddy yet, my guess is he didn't charge up his cell and he's without power.
