Men have to try & drum up excuses. Many women just need to undo a few buttons.

Re: How to Talk Your Way Out of a Ticket

Wow, I disagree with just about everything in this article.
When I would pull someone over, the very last thing I wanted to hear was an excuse.

With the exception of my rookie year, 9 times out of 10 when I stopped somebody, I was looking for something bigger.
The fact that they were speeding/weaving/driving too close/had a headlight out only gave me probable cause to stop them.
Once stopped, I could look for things like drugs, DWI, warrants, etc.
If someone began arguing with me, or tried to give me an excuse, they were drastically increasing their chances of getting a ticket for whatever reason I pulled them over.

In my experience, the best way to get out of a ticket is to be truthful. When the cop says that he pulled you over for speeding, say something like, "I'm realized that, I'm sorry.
When I passed you I looked down at my speedometer and saw that was driving 45."
This way you admit your guilt and accept ownership for it.
It goes a long way IMHO.

Unless you have a rookie cop.

For a cop's first year or so, they will write you for anything and everything.
Not much you can do there.

When were you a cop or are you one now? It seems to mee you had a different job.
