How to play with telemarketers
I just got this email and I cant wait for a telemarketer to call now so I can try it out.
Telemarketer
The phone rang as I was sitting down to my evening meal, and as I answered it I was greeted with "Is this Karl Brummer". Not sounding anything like my name, I asked who is calling. The telemarketer said he was with The Rubber Band Powered Freezer Company or something like that.
Then I asked him if he knew Karl personally and why was he calling this number. I then said off to the side, "get some pictures of the body at various angles and the blood smears", I then turned back to the phone and advised the caller that he had entered a murder scene and must stay on the line because we had already traced his
call and he would be receiving a summons to testify in this murder case.
I questioned the caller at great length as to his name, address, phone number at home, at work, who he worked for, how he knew the dead guy and could he prove where he had been about one hour before he made this call. The telemarketer was getting very concerned and his answers were given in a shaky voice.
I then told him we had located his position and the police were entering the building to take him into custody. At that point I heard the phone fall and the scurrying of his running away.
My wife asked me as I returned to our table why I had tears streaming down my face and so help me, I couldn't tell her for about fifteen minutes.
My meal was cold, but it was the best meal in a long, long time.

Re: How to play with telemarketers
HAHAHA
I take French in high school and usually I start talking in French and when theyre like DOES ANYONE IN YOUR HOUSE SPEAK ENGLISH (in like a realy slow voice) Say NO in Enligsh and hang up
This also works for prank calls
I called this one bedding place in Chicago
I start talkig to them in French and they were like I cant hear you and then I was like hold on I need to move to an area of better connection (not realizing that I had just spoke in English) The guy said I thought you were French. But then I made the comeback of the day
I thought you couldnt hear me?
I got him soooooo bad

Re: How to play with telemarketers
That just sounds like a lot to go thru to tell them no.
Of course you can say the telemarketer won't call back after that, but what telemarketer does?
It has been my experience that every telemarketer I get is a different person, so what good does it do to make them not want to call back, when they had no intentions of it anyway after their initial call?
I do one of two things;
1. Simply tell them "I'm not interested" & hang up.
2. Tell them the party they are trying to reach has moved. Then I give them my ex-wife's number!

Re: How to play with telemarketers
I usually just tell them to hold on a sec and see how long they stay on the line. If i notice that they are still on after like 10 minutes i tell them to hold on again. Haha, I had a guy on there for 40 minutes once.

Re: How to play with telemarketers
Why wouldn't it be legal? Do you think the FBI are sitting and waiting to pounce on people who prank telemarketers?

Another one to do is say you have the wrong number and tell them the exact same number as they called and they get all confused!
