Thread: How long have you been following the purple and gold????

I've been following the Vikings since our first Super Bowl against the Kansas City on Jan. 11, 1970. Since then I've been a Viking fan thru all the GOOD,BAD AND UGLY TIMES. We purchased season Tickets in 2001 and will con. until we WIN THE BIG ONE!

i've been a fan of the vikings for as long as i can remember, but i probably didn't really follow them real closely like i do now until about 6 or 7 years ago.

My dad is also a Vikings fan, he doesnt miss a game, so when i was a kid, i started to watch with him.
So it started when i was 7 years old.

38 years for me. Ever since 1969. I was 9 years old at the time.

I do not think that anybody has been a fan since they were born.

So, I was 6 when I started watching that Vikes.
I got a Kramer jersey and my mom would put black makeup under my eyes like Tommy.


So, that was 1980.
That gives me 27 years.

You read my mind...same here started with dad in 1975 also.
The family is BIG Viking fans including the kids!
they know that they have no choice but to bleed purple...it goes back generations... LOL
I veered off for a few years to root for the Dolphins and the Cowboys.
I would do it just to piss my dad off.
Been a hardcore Vikings fan for the last 8 years and am learning more every year.
This year I am making an effort to learn how the draft and FA works...I am such a girl when it comes to that

Born and raised here in Minnesota and always loved the Vikes ,but to honestly say following them, about 3 years now.

I have listened to on radio, watched on TV, or been to every Vikings game since their inception and the first game they ever played against Chicago at the old Met.

When your born into the family and your wearing purple you can say you have been a fan since you were born.
If thats all you knew at the time.


I see your point though because a person has no sense of knowledge for the game.

I think if you were born into a fan you can say you have been one for life (IMO).
