You just knew he was going to make the team, but there is a chance he may be cut yet when they have to go from 15 to 12 players later.

The US appears to be trying a new formula when playing international basketball. Instead of just picking the most talented players, they are trying to build a team with stars and role players. In case you haven't noticed, we've been getting our ass kicked for years internationally. I think it's great that Battier and Bowen have made the team; both play solid defense and bring those "intangibles" to their teams that coaches love. I think it's smart.

Yeh, the US is trying a new style. That last few years the roster has been made of shoot first point guards. This time they have a pass first point guard in Chris Paul. I think this team is going to be able to work really good together.

The best man for what? There are six or seven other guys in this year's draft alone that would be a better fit for the national team, let alone the countless guys already established in the league.
