ive never eaten artichokes. they kinda look like the head part of asparagus. i love asparagus. do they taste similar?

Whoever was the first person to eat an artichoke must have been starving and thought "That looks edible, and I'm hungry.
If it's poisonous, I'll die, but at least I'll have made an attempt to survive".
Otherwise, I can't see how that looks visibly enticing as food.
When we stop to think about it, most folks behavior isn't perplexing after all !

Artichokes are pretty darn tasty. Put the hearts in salads, mmmmmm... And yeah, you dip the fat part of the leaves in melted butter, the part with the "meat" on them. Awfully tasty...
