They are actually very good.
We just dip the tips in butter.
"Remember it's the heart and the leaves that are attached to it that you want to savor. Avoid anything prickly (usually trimmed off in prep) or fuzzy."
At first I thought they were talking about a former Girlfreind of mine ;D
They look like something you throw instead of eat.
I love artichokes. They're best dipped in a sour cream based chive sauce. Good stuff.
i think thats what my cat threw up one time.
ive never eaten artichokes. they kinda look like the head part of asparagus. i love asparagus. do they taste similar?
Whoever was the first person to eat an artichoke must have been starving and thought "That looks edible, and I'm hungry.
If it's poisonous, I'll die, but at least I'll have made an attempt to survive".
Otherwise, I can't see how that looks visibly enticing as food.
Artichokes are pretty darn tasty. Put the hearts in salads, mmmmmm... And yeah, you dip the fat part of the leaves in melted butter, the part with the "meat" on them. Awfully tasty...
