    IRR= Inactive Ready Reserve

    After serving in the military, unless you retire, you're obligated to 4 more years inactive. You'd only get called, if the regular mil. was getting short on [s]man[/s] person power, and needed to call some up. At that point, the reserves would be called, and as a last resort, Inactive Ready Reserve.

    This is how i understand it, but i've been off IRR for nearly 10 years, and no longer active for 13. I suppose it's possible it has changed, or i had it wrong in the first place. Feel free to correct me anyone.

    It actually doesn't.

    Not saying I agree with the protesters in THIS STORY, but if they're being fined $11 Million dollars for protesting at a soldier's funeral... why did the soldier die in the first place?
