Hobbies, what counts and what does not.

We must prepare ourselves for our lives.
People sometimes ask, 'what are your hobbies' when applying for a job.
It is important that we know what constitutes a hobby and what does not.

Some hobbies are obvious, things like fishing, hunting, sports, etc.
The hobbies on the fringes are not so clear-cut.

It was said by an esteemed member that scratching yourself can be considered a hobby in some states.

This issue must be resoved if we are to be successful in life.

If one scratches oneself whilst bitching about the Vikings, it counts as a real hobby.

    Introspection is a hobby.
Especially if it's drug induced and you stare out the window for hours apparently doing nothing.

Can hobbies induce other hobbies? Can you have a hobby of drug induced introspection as well as a hobby of drug use?
I need a drug induced philosopher to figure this one out for me..

Not sure how esteemed that member is since he was scratching his arse!
I don't have time for some of the usual hobbies in life.
I used to have hobbies like pressing mattress covers and bedsheets with my back. That became taxing so now I am trying to force my backside into perfect conformation with a Barkalounger.
But my newest hobby is convincing myself that thinking about an act is every bit as satisfying as doing it. When I get that mastered, there will be heaven on earth.

    Here are some hobbies:
    What do you think:

    Video Games in general?
Video Games like World of Warcraft?
    Golf?
    Bowling?
    Poker?
    Tinkering with electronics?
    Gardening?
    Landscaping?

    Those can all be hobbies.

Anything you spend a significant amount of time on, that you don't get paid for doing. That's my definition of a hobby.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.
