A high-speed chase involving a bank robbery suspect snarled traffic and ended with a crash and shots fired in the west metro Friday morning.
It's not yet clear who fired the shots or if anyone was hit.
Police chased a bank robbery suspect along 694 from University Ave. in Fridley to Plymouth before the suspect finally crashed around 7 a.m. at 494 and 55.
The suspect in the silver sedan reached speeds of nearly 100 miles per hour on southbound 494 during heavy traffic around 6:45 a.m., according to initial reports.
The suspect was seen throwing bags of money out the window of the car while speeding down the highway. Police are still reportedly searching for one bag of money along the chase route.
The suspect reportedly robbed the TCF bank in St. Anthony before the chase.Zeus wrote:
