they say since he travels so much, the flyer miles are technically the company's, but the person who earned them can use them

its a pretty sweet deal, he gets to book his flights and what not..

and keep and use the miles
That company is in the minority then. Most companies keep a tight reign on their travel arrangements.

I travel at an average only a couple times a month, but at the rate I'm going its going to take me years to get enough frequent flyer miles to fly from Chicago O'hare to Chicago Midway
My bro works for the Govt, and they don't steal his Miles from him.

Can a company actually take your miles like that???

yea, since the company paid for the flight.. they're technically the company's

and my dad gets point for hotels too..

    its a sweet deal...

(he flies so much the company lets him have all the points so he doesnt go to another job where he doesnt fly as much)
i m better than you, so just give up...

That is kinda why my Bro gets to keep his too. They can't really compensate for the 24 hours of travel time half way around the world. So it is like a perk to get to keep them.

That's true with our company also. They stress video conferencing as much as possible & flying only when deemed necessary.

All in the name of the almighty dollar.

Although, they are flying me & a co-worker into Toronto tomorrow for a few days.

Sometimes you have to plan a little different when times are tough..

Instead of some big, far away vacation, my wife Margie, David and I, went to the coast line here in CT and into RI for the weekend....Stayed one night in a hotel at $169.00 a night and that alone is hard to swallow. But when it comes to free time and spending it with family, that is priceless to begin with....Hell, you only live once..

Here is a pic of us at Mystic Marine Life Aquariume in Mystic, CT....

and my dad gets some free elctronic equipment every now and then.. so he can stay occupied on the plane..

even though he's gone a lot.. its worth it for the points and flyer miles so we can go to vacation and what not for really cheap

I've never been able to do a lot of traveling, but I love to go camping here in Minnesota several times a year.

I've never even flown in a jet before... ops:

But I did get to see a lot of the country when I went with my Dad once on one of his over-the-road trucking "expeditions."

Three weeks on the road was something else...

I usually camp at a State Park somewhere, but I'd like to backpack sometime.

Haven't done that kind of camping since I was in the Cub Scouts.

I'm definitely into backpacking. Since I live here in Idaho, I usually don't feel the need to go out of state on vacation; I just hike into the woods with my dog and lady or take a horse packing trip with my buddies who own horses.

Our big trip this year, aside from the one to Seattle to see the Vikes, is going to be to Telluride, CO to see the Telluride Bluegrass Festival; it should be a hoot!
