Re: Here's a challenge for all those who make sigs,
Well, just make me a small 3 x 3 ' square block of concrete, put your initials in it and send it this way. We'll put it in the top of the foundation.

Re: Here's a challenge for all those who make sigs,
One of the priorities with a logo is for it to be clean, simple, and speak to the business. Logos/icons for a business should be recognizable...think of the swoosh for Nike, the NFL shield, etc.... even the PPO logo Del did...relatively simple but powerful...which makes it incredibly versatile and useful...we've used Del's at all sizes all over and its immediately recognizable.
The ones there, lotza, are a little busy. They are a good start though, exploring this area of design. Take those keywords, run with them, and when you see the logo you finish...does it say those things to you without being written out? That's a mark of a good logo/business identity.
Just speaking from someone that has several businesses. I should post the ones that were done for us.

Re: Here's a challenge for all those who make sigs,
I bet about 40% of what I do graphics wise is logos.
It's going to be hard to get one you really love without bouncing the ideas back and forth. I rarely have a client that is satisfied with what I have done initially, and I have never had one that was not involved in the design process at some stage even if it is looking through 20-30 logos and picking one, even then they usually want a modification of some sort.
When I worked on the PPO logo I filled about a half a sketch book of garbage and bounced some ideas off webby, I would e-mail him updates and he would say yay or nay. That's just an example.
Lotza I like the direction you are going with that. There is definately a lot to work with there.

Re: Here's a challenge for all those who make sigs,
Lotza,
Those are both nice, but I'de say they would be more usefull as a Letter head banner or such.....
Please don't get me wrong, I really thank you for your time and effort, but I'm looking for more of a logo...Type design....Sort of like the PPO logo....But not Viking themed..
Try something with just the three C's.... CCC ( connecticut concrete construction) do you get it now?...
I'll try to help when I can..
Del, How did I know you'de get in on this...LOL...
Glad to see you did...
